After a decade of being in the entertainment industry, Miss Pru, real name Prudence Sebalo is still going strong. The versatile Dj she has achieved a lot in the ten years and now she looks forward to growing even more.
“I’ve accomplished the goals I’ve set for myself when I started, but now I have other goals I’ve added that I’m working on. One goal I’ve achieved that’s the biggest for me was being on the radio, I enjoyed it and I’m looking forward to doing it again,” she says.
“I’ve definitely grown since I’ve started and the goals I had back then have definitely changed. I’m glad to have learned about the business side of the industry it has helped me sustain myself,” she adds.
Miss Pru says a lot of people have been there for her in the journey, including her best friend, Sihle Shabalala who she appreciates and owes her success to.
“Every time I might have felt I’ve reached the end she constantly reminded me of where we started and how far we’ve come. She’s played a huge role in my life and career, I’m forever grateful our paths crossed.”
Looking at Miss Pru’s hard work tells one that not only the smart are guaranteed a seat at the table, but dedication can keep you relevant for the longest of time.
“I work till I can taste the blood. One thing I’ve always known is I’ve never been the smartest or the strongest in the room but I’ll out work anyone in that room,”
Staying away from controversy and keeping her life private has helped in sustaining her in the entertainment industry.
“I have learned to block the noise,” she says.
“I’ve kept my personal life personal; I share mostly about my music which has worked for me.”
Proving that she is a force to be reckoned with, in the past ten years, she has worked with brands like Chevrolet, Legit, Opel Corsa, Brutal Fruit, Sprizzo and Kenzo. Miss Pru holds two South African Hip Hop Awards, a Metro award and a SAMA award.
Artists she would like to work with include Dee Koala, Touchline, Yemilade, Proverb and Stogie T.
Miss Pru joined ambitiouz Entertainment in 2015 and has since released hits like Isaga Lami and Ameni, the recent release is a song titled Sondela, in which she features her stablemates.
“I’m so thankful to our boss for the opportunity to be a part of Ambitiouz. My career took off and everything is going well, I’m excited about my journey with them and looking forward to more ground-breaking moves.”
