The award-winning rapper lets the young people know that someone out there understands and he hopes that since the message comes from a peer, it will help someone make wise decisions.
The message the video carries was received with immense positivity and it is still educating those who lay their eyes on it daily. In the video Kid Tini’s girlfriend dies after having an illegal abortion and the rapper follows by taking his own life.
It has been three weeks of topping digital and radio charts plus getting everyone on a festive mood, now Ibhanoyi by Blaq Diamond has a million YouTube views. The song and the video were released on the same day, 02 August 2019, and since its landing “Ibhanoyi” which is a Zulu term for aeroplane has been making waves in the music industry.
The video tells a story of two love-struck young men from KwaZulu Natal who moved to the big city, Johannesburg, to get jobs so that they would be able to fend for their lovers back home.
Their life in Johannesburg starts off with the two washing taxis for a living, to being taxi drivers and finally elevating to being taxi owners which enabled them to bring their partners to the city. The moral of the story is hard work always pays off.
